We have a long-established Energy Group which operates across
departments and has acted for many of the major operators in the
energy field, including major UK oil and gas companies, pipeline
operators and other industrial concerns.
We advise our energy sector clients on a wide range of
industrial infrastructure projects including the establishment of
power stations, underground gas storage and processing
facilities, combined heat and power plants and the laying and
abandonment of pipelines. We advise on projects both in the
UK and internationally. Our cross-departmental teams can
advise on all aspects, including construction, real
estate and environmental,
and financing, and on
acquisitions and disposals of energy infrastructure assets.
We have unrivalled experience of the construction of
cross-country and other pipelines, having advised the individual
and consortia promoters of some 25 pipelines.
We advise on gas transportation, including the Uniform Network
Code, and related operational issues.
We have substantial experience in the renewable energy sector,
in the UK and overseas, advising sponsors and banks on a number of
wind, solar and bio-mass projects, and trading in Renewable
Obligation Certificates and climate change levy exemption
certificates.
