Gas transportation & storage

We have an in-depth understanding of all the legal issues relating to the establishment and operation of a gas transportation system.  We have acted for clients developing gas transportation infrastructure from the inception of the project through to the development stage, and we provide ongoing advice on operational aspects and contracts.  We have developed and advise on gas transportation agreements and issues arising under the Uniform Network Code and related matters.

We advise on the development of gas storage infrastructure for example, we have advised on the development and operation of a large project for solution mining, brine extraction and establishment of a gas processing plant and gas storage facility.  We can deal with all aspects of a project including: structure, funding, public procurement, tender documentation, construction and project management arrangements, operation and maintenance agreements and consultants’ appointments.

We are experienced in advising project participants in the gas industry on joint venture arrangements and in relation to acquisitions and disposals of gas infrastructure assets.

We also advise on operational issues arising in the course of managing a gas transportation system and related contractual arrangements, such as O&M agreements and other service provision.

Our Regulatory Group is also experienced in advising on competition issues and procurement regulations affecting the gas industry, and we also advise on licensing requirements and conditions.
