The Stephen Hawking School

The Stephen Hawking School in Tower Hamlets, London caters for children between the ages of two and eleven. Just over two thirds of pupils have profound and multiple learning difficulties and the remainder severe learning difficulties. The majority of children are in wheelchairs with some requiring oxygen, some are fed through a tube, some are partially sighted and some are deaf.

In 2006, we organised a raffle for the school and raising money towards the refurbishment of the school playground.

We also organised Christmas parties for the children in 2006 and 2007. The school was decorated and presents were given to the children by Santa in an amazing animated grotto, which some children loved so much it proved difficult to get them to leave!  We also provided food, cakes, trees and an inflatable illuminated Santa.

The staff at the school have been overwhelmed by our support and the joy that we have brought to the children at Christmas time.
