We have been involved in many of the major insolvencies,
including Polly Peck, Maxwell, British & Commonwealth,
Railtrack and Swissair. Currently we are acting in the
liquidation of BCCI.
We regularly act for debtors, creditors and
companies in connection with asset realisations and enforcement of
security rights; directors on trading, preference and
disqualification issues; and office holders such as administrators,
liquidators and receivers on their appointment, defence to claims
and asset recoveries.
Together with our Corporate, Real
Estate, Tax and Employment Groups, we bring together a range of
skills covering all aspects of re-structuring, re-financing and
insolvency to deliver client success.
Our experience includes:
- acting for a London-based financial services
company in the £100m collapse of an investment fund
- representing pension fund trustees in a claim
relating to fund shortfall following the insolvency of the
employer
- recovering security pledged to a bank
following appointment of administrative receivers
- acting for an office holder in claims made
for post appointment debts
