Stamp duties
We offer commercially-effective solutions to
clients with stamp duty issues. For instance, we achieved the
saving of £3.5m stamp duty reserve tax in a transaction for a major
building society on our introduction to the transaction.
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) replaced Stamp Duty
for property transactions on 1 December 2003 and is much harder to
avoid. Nevertheless, we have been very active in designing
and implementing SDLT planning schemes for mitigating SDLT on
property transactions. We are always interested in discussing
the possibility of adopting an SDLT scheme for a property
transaction.
