What is life really like as a trainee with Field Fisher
Waterhouse LLP in London?
If a work/life balance is important to you, then you have come
to the right firm.
We work hard, often very hard, but we also know when to stop and
go home.
Socialising
We are a friendly bunch and our Sports & Social
Committee is never short of reasons to stage an event. Unfailingly,
our employees can be relied upon to turn it into a memorable
occasion.
There's generally an event in the pipeline, whether it's a
Christmas party, themed party, departmental drinks evening, summer
barbecue or karaoke.
Trainees also arrange their own social events. Annual highlights
include the first-year trainees' night out, organised by the
second-year trainees, and the trainee qualifiers’ dinner, organised
by the first-year trainees, at the end of the year.
But many activities are spontaneous, like Friday nights out, a
relaxing lunch in the Bolthole - the firm’s coffee bar - or just
dining out around the City.
Sport
The good news is that our football team is doing well in the
London Legal League! We also have a very successful hockey team.
But, for those who don’t take their sport quite so seriously, there
are inter-departmental matches (many with mixed teams) and events
with our clients.
Softball, cricket and netball are also popular. We have our own
squash courts in the office and a pool table in the Bolthole.
If you find we don’t cover your favourite activity, there will
be unlimited support and encouragement for you to start your own
team!
