Vacation schemes

Applications for our 2010 Vacation Scheme placements are now closed but applications for 2012 Training Contracts will remain open until 31 July 2010. Please apply on-line for a place on one of our vacation schemes. If you have applied for a vacation scheme, you will hear if you have been invited to an assessment centre by approximately 26th February.

The dates for our Easter and Summer vacation schemes during 2010 are as follows:

Easter: From the 6th - 16th April 2010.

Summer: From the 14th – 25th June 2010.

Both vacation schemes last for two weeks and we will accept approximately 10 people onto each scheme.  You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience of life as a trainee solicitor at Field Fisher Waterhouse, sharing an office with a partner or senior associate and assisting them on real client work.  You will also have a current trainee acting as your 'buddy'. You will get to experience two different practice areas over the 2 weeks.

You will also get to work with other vacation scheme students on a mock pitch designed for you to use your research skills and gain exposure to our wide variety of practice areas in our European firm.  The project will culminate in giving a pitch presentation to clients.

As well as practical work experience you can also attend presentations and workshops facilitated by our qualified solicitors to give you a full insight into the type of work and deals we do for our clients.

Finally there will of course be plenty of social activities organised throughout the 2 weeks which will give you ample opportunity to meet our current trainees, solicitors and partners.

Many of our current trainees completed a vacation scheme with us and we hope to fill many of our training contract vacancies to begin in September 2012 through the vacation scheme. For this reason there will be a full review of your time spent with us taking into account your own feedback and that of your allocated and well-trained assessor (normally a senior associate or partner).

You will be based at our offices in the City of London and will be paid a competitive salary of £250 per week.
