first Breakfast Briefing on 15 May 2008.
The Briefing will focus
on "Dishonesty in regulatory cases". Joanna Glynn
QC, Head of Regulatory Group 23 Essex Street and author
of 'Fitness to
Practise: Healthcare
Regulatory Law, Principle and Process' will be joining us as guest speaker. Rosemary Rollason and Katherine Bovey,
partner and senior
solicitor at Field Fisher Waterhouse respectively, will
also be speaking.
Topics covered will include:
- the meaning of dishonesty and the current test
- the impact of a finding of dishonesty at the impairment and
sanctions stage
- pleading dishonesty in regulatory cases
The Briefing will
take the form of an interactive
workshop. We will review recent appeal and CHRE
case law and there will be a practical case study session with
group feedback and opportunities for discussion throughout
the morning.
