Breakfast Briefing - Dishonesty in Regulatory Cases

15 May 2008

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP's Public & Regulatory Law Group is hosting its first Breakfast Briefing on 15 May 2008.

The Briefing will focus on "Dishonesty in regulatory cases".  Joanna Glynn QC, Head of Regulatory Group 23 Essex Street and author of 'Fitness to Practise: Healthcare Regulatory Law, Principle and Process' will be joining us as guest speaker.  Rosemary Rollason and Katherine Bovey, partner and senior solicitor at Field Fisher Waterhouse respectively, will also be speaking.

 Topics covered will include:

  • the meaning of dishonesty and the current test
  • the impact of a finding of dishonesty at the impairment and sanctions stage
  • pleading dishonesty in regulatory cases

The Briefing will take the form of an interactive workshop.  We will review recent appeal and CHRE case law and there will be a practical case study session with group feedback and opportunities for discussion throughout the morning.
