Leading property litigator joins FFW
29 September 2004
Antony Phillips has joined Field Fisher Waterhouse as a partner
from Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. The highly regarded property
litigator - rated as a leading individual in both The Legal 500 and
Chambers directories - will head the Property Litigation team
within FFW’s Real Estate Department.
Partner Moira Gilmour, Head of FFW’s Real Estate Department,
says:
“We are delighted that someone of Antony’s calibre and track record
will be leading our Property Litigation team.
To continue to prosper it is essential that we give our clients
first-class advice and strength in depth across the range of
property-related disciplines.
We have a clear strategy for growth. Our aim is to
increase our turnover significantly in the next two years. To
achieve this we must differentiate ourselves from our competition
in the crowded middle market. Antony is a keen proponent of
mediation and has settled a number of acrimonious disputes this
way. This experience will add value to our service to
clients, as much as his dispute avoidance and litigation
skills.
Antony’s recruitment comes hard on the heels of another major
strategic recruitment for our long-established construction and
projects practice and for our Real Estate Department.
Marshall Levine, former Head of Construction at Linklaters, joins
in October and will work closely with us to deliver our growth
strategy.”
Antony Phillips says:
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to develop a first-rate
property litigation practice. FFW have bucked the trend and have a
real strategy for growth of their Real Estate Department.
Their impressive client list of major estate owners –
particularly leisure, telecoms and industrial companies –
institutional investors and banks is well known. I am looking
forward to working with them.”
