FFW sees increased corporate activity in the travel sector
09 March 2005
Field Fisher Waterhouse is well known for its expertise in the
travel sector and is ranked by Legal 500 in the top tier of firms
working in this sector. In recent months it has seen
increased corporate activity in the sector as the wider economy has
improved.
For example:
- FFW recently advised Alpine Tours, the school ski holiday
specialist, on its sale to the Ardmore Language School Group, a
provider of school exchange holidays, for an undisclosed sum.
- Having previously advised Jerry Bridge, the founder of Bridge
the World on its merger with the Travelbag Group and its subsequent
£47m sale to ebookers, FFW has recently advised Jerry Bridge on the
establishment of, and associated private equity fund raising by,
his new venture, Bridge and Wickers World of Travel Limited.
This has been set up with David Wickers, the chief travel
correspondent for The Times newspaper.
- FFW recently advised a member of the management team on his
participation in the Phoenix Equity Partners backed MBO/MBI of the
Weststar Holiday Parks business. The terms of the deal are
confidential.
Corporate partner David Wilkinson led the teams advising on all
of the above transactions. Partner Graeme Nuttall advised on
tax matters.
