Field Fisher Waterhouse hires top data protection lawyer from the Information Commissioner’s Office

European law firm, Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP
announces today the appointment of Sian Rudgard who joins the
firm’s Privacy and Information Law Group
from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Sian was a senior solicitor at the ICO for
seven years. Whilst at the ICO she was responsible for
international matters, working closely with EU regulators, and
besides Richard Thomas, was the public face of the ICO outside the
UK.
Sian has over 20 years of legal
experience. Before joining the ICO she worked for Simmons
& Simmons and at National Power (formerly the Central
Electricity Generating Board). She is a data protection
expert and in particular has a high level of knowledge of Binding
Corporate Rules (BCR) for international data transfers,
having assessed the only two BCR schemes approved to
date.
