Field Fisher Waterhouse boosts Real Estate Group with new planning partner
28 September 2007
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today the appointment of
planning partner, Sarah Youren. Sarah
joins the firm’s 15 partner Real Estate
Group, boosting the firm’s existing planning
capabilities.
The firm’s planning practice advises public and private sector
clients including government departments and agencies, local
planning authorities, national and multi-national companies as well
as property developers. Clients of the planning practice
include Southwark Council, National Grid, RREEF, BP, ICI and
Quadrant Estates.
Sarah joins Field Fisher Waterhouse from Denton Wilde Sapte
where she worked for two years. Prior to that she worked at
SJ Berwin. She has extensive experience advising clients on a wide
range of planning issues, including providing strategic planning
advice, negotiating planning and other infrastructure agreements,
securing compulsory purchase orders and advising on highways
matters.
Sarah has assisted clients on retail, office, residential and
mixed use schemes across the UK. Most recently, Sarah has been
involved in advising on the planning agreement for Barking
Riverside, a public/private partnership between Bellway and English
Partnerships to build 10,800 new homes and associated development
on a 180 hectare site in the Thames Gateway.
Sarah is the latest in a number of recent lateral hires for the
firm – the latest being Brussels-based employment partner, Olivier Rijckaert and IP partner, Hamish
Porter, who both joined the firm earlier this month.
Moira Gilmour, managing partner of
Field Fisher Waterhouse, said: “We welcome Sarah to our growing
partnership which now stands at 105 partners. Sarah will
further strengthen our highly-regarded Real Estate Group which is
becoming increasingly involved in major projects. Her
experience and expertise will add further depth to our existing
planning practice and to the support that it provides to the rest
of the Real Estate Group .”
