Field Fisher Waterhouse boosts life sciences capability with new partner hire
03 December 2008
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today the appointment of
partner Alison Dennis. Alison, who
specialises in the life sciences sector,
joins the firm’s Competition and EU
Regulatory Group from Reed Smith.
Alison’s practice is focused on providing
clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with
commercial as well as regulatory advice to meet their needs at all
stages during the life cycle of their products. Alison’s
experience includes advising on a wide range of regulatory issues
in this field, including complex issues arising in connection with
codes of practice on advertising and sales, establishment in the
EU, the regulation of clinical trials and dealings with the
Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency
(MHRA). Alison has particular expertise in devising and
implementing innovative solutions to meet her clients’ specific
circumstances and requirements and has extensive experience of
drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements for
clients in the life sciences sector.
Alison joins Field Fisher Waterhouse’s London
office and will also work closely with the firm’s three partner
Competition and EU Regulatory team based
in Brussels. The team, led by Claudio
Mereu, has a leading reputation advising on EU regulatory law
and has a particular specialism in general chemicals (REACH),
pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and biosciences.
Alison’s appointment follows the appointments
of pensions partner Michael Calvert and
property litigation partner Lesley
Webber who, like Alison, joined the firm from Reed Smith. This
latest appointment is the firm’s 13th lateral hire of the current
financial year, bringing the total number of partners at Field
Fisher Waterhouse to 131.
Charles
Whiddington, Head of Competition and EU
Regulatory at Field Fisher Waterhouse, said: “Alison’s
expertise will be a significant asset both for our Competition and EU Regulatory Group and the
firm’s cross practice Life Sciences capability. Since Claudio and
his team joined the firm last year, we have built up a substantial
reputation in life sciences regulation and Alison’s experience and
client base has excellent synergies with our Brussels practice, as
well as the firm’s Life Sciences
team.”
