Field Fisher Waterhouse advises Garner Plc on reverse acquisition
01 December 2008
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised
AIM-quoted Garner Plc, an executive search company, on the
reverse acquisition of three companies which together trade under
the name of Norman Broadbent for a total of £5.5 million.
Following this acquisition, the enlarged group
will provide executive search under two brands – Norman Broadbent
and Garner International – and seek to grow non-search
services.
Garner’s clients are mainly UK based. Norman
Broadbent has a broader geographical outreach (UK, USA, Canada and
Dubai and a licensee in Spain) and operates in sectors which do not
compete with Garner’s existing business. The acquisition has the
potential to increase the size and scope of Garner’s business,
attracting new clients.
Field Fisher Waterhouse corporate partner Dominic Gurney-Champion led on the deal and was
assisted by solicitors Brad Isaac, Carlton Durrant, Tom Ward,
Nicholas Heap and Edward Westhead.
So far this year Field Fisher Waterhouse’s
Corporate Finance Group has advised on 23
AIM deals. The firm, which has a leading reputation in the
AIM market, has over 50 AIM clients.
Dominic Gurney-Champion
said: “We are pleased to have completed this deal for
Garner. The deal will significantly increase the profile
of Garner and its geographical reach. Norman Broadbent was advised
by Cobbetts.
