17 January 2008

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised Croskeep Limited, the property holding company of DRE Group Limited, on the multi-million pound purchase of the Maylord Orchards Shopping Centre in Hereford from the Prudential Assurance Company Limited. The firm are also advising on the ongoing management work involved in the shopping centre.

Croskeep Limited is a subsidiary of DRE Group Limited and is a property investment company primarily investing in town centre retail premises. This is the first large transaction that Field Fisher Waterhouse has been instructed on by the client.

Real Estate partner Denise Sexton led on the deal, assisted by Real Estate partner Jayne Elkins and Employment partner Peter Holt. The team also included real estate solicitors Paula Abrahamian, Sarah Cotterill, Jonathan Kalman, Ben Lamb, Gemma McMahon and corporate solicitor Ronit Grant.

This deal demonstrates the strength of the firm’s Real Estate Group and its expertise in the retail sector. Field Fisher Waterhouse acts for a number of retail clients including House of Fraser, Bhs, Laura Ashley and Oddbins.

Denise Sexton said: “We are delighted to have advised Croskeep on the purchase of Herefordshire’s biggest shopping complex. This deal certainly bucks the current credit crunch trend.”

The Prudential Assurance Company Limited was advised by Lovells.
