Field Fisher Waterhouse boosts tax capability with new hires
11 November 2009
European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse announces today the
appointments of partner Pierre-Philippe Hendrickx and senior associate
Jennifer Santos. The team, who specialise in international tax,
join the firm’s Brussels office from Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck
Kirkpatrick.
Pierre-Philippe Hendrickx focuses on Belgian and international
tax advisory, transactional and litigation work. This includes
assisting clients in the corporate and financial sectors on a wide
range of tax matters, including corporate reorganisations, public
and private M&A, structuring of investments in the audiovisual
sector (“Tax Shelter”), employee incentive plans and taxation of
artists and professional athletes. He is the author of various
publications on tax law.
Pierre-Philippe has over twenty years’ experience advising on
tax law issues and has been a partner at Liedekerke Wolters
Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick since 2001. His appointment is the
third lateral hire the Brussels office has made in the last two
months, closely following those of IP partner Stijn Debaene and
regulatory partner Véronique Vanden Acker who both joined the firm
from Allen and Overy. The appointments of Pierre-Philippe and
Jennifer Santos bring the total number of lawyers in Brussels to 14
partners and 28 fee earners. The Brussels tax team will form
part of the firm’s wider European tax practice, led by partner, Graeme Nuttall. The
firm’s UK tax capability also grew this year with the appointment
of partner, Derek
Hill who joined the firm from Herbert Smith.
Eric Cusas, managing partner of the
Brussels office, said: “I am pleased to
welcome Pierre-Philippe and Jennifer to the growing Brussels
office. The team’s appointment increases the firm’s international
and European tax capability and means that we can now offer
additional tax expertise directly to our clients in Brussels.”
