22 April 2010
European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse announces today the
appointment of partner Franck Veisse who
joins the firm’s Paris office. His
appointment boosts the firm’s intellectual
property capability in Paris and expands its market
leading European franchising practice.
Franck, who was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1993, joins
Field Fisher Waterhouse from Paris firm Grand Auzas & Associés.
He specialises in franchising,
distribution and commercial contracts including the exploitation of
trade marks, technical know-how, designs
and other IP rights. He also advises on related competition law
issues such as exclusivity deals, price fixing, distribution
networks and unfair competition. He advises a range of
clients, including a number of big name French and international
retail brands, on both contentious and non-contentious
matters.
Franck will be a significant addition to Field Fisher
Waterhouse’s market leading franchise practice, led by UK partners
Mark Abell and Chris Wormald. The six partner team has a large
number of big name international clients in the retail, hotel, leisure
and services sectors. They advise on big ticket deals for
clients in India, Russia, the Middle East, Japan and China, as well
as across Europe.
Bruno Paccioni, managing partner of
the Paris office, said: “We are pleased to welcome Franck to the
firm. His appointment will further strengthen our IP team and
complement the practice of Bruno Ducoulombier. IP is a
key area of growth for us and Franck’s franchising expertise is an
excellent strategic fit with the firm’s leading UK-based
franchising practice.”
Mark Abell, Joint Head of Franchising at Field Fisher Waterhouse
said: “Field Fisher Waterhouse undertakes the majority of the
highest level franchising work in the UK and a significant share of
international franchising work into and out of Europe, acting for a
host of major domestic and international brands. Franck’s
appointment will add significantly to our practice.”
