Field Fisher Waterhouse grows European employment capability with new partner hire
25 March 2010
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today
the appointment of partner Simeon Spencer who joins the firm’s
growing Employment and Pensions Group.
Simeon’s practice focuses on European employment matters for international clients. His
work covers all areas of employment law including advising on the
employment aspects of M&A, IPO deals
and outsourcing. He has developed a
focus on collective and individual redundancies and
reorganisations, particularly multi-jurisdictional matters across
Europe, and advises on European collective employment and trade
union law. Simeon is also known for his complex employment
litigation experience and his expertise in the technology
sector.
Simeon joins Field Fisher Waterhouse from the
New York office of Seyfarth Shaw. Prior to joining Seyfarth he
was partner at Morgan Lewis where he headed up the firm’s European
employment practice.
Simeon will join Field Fisher Waterhouse’s
growing seven partner Employment and
Pensions Group which recently hired partner Jim Wright from
Irwin Mitchell. Working with employment teams based in the firm’s
Hamburg, Paris
and Brussels offices, Simeon’s
appointment will build on the firm’s pan-European employment
capability as well as its market leading reputation in the
technology sector.
Richard Kenyon, head of Employment and
Pensions at Field Fisher Waterhouse said: “Simeon’s
multi-jurisdictional European experience will strengthen our
ability to service clients’ employment law needs across Europe and
his focus on technology and IP rich businesses has excellent
synergies with Field Fisher Waterhouse’s core strengths.”
Olivier Rijckaert,
partner and Head of Employment in Field Fisher Waterhouse’s
Brussels office said: “We are pleased to welcome Simeon to the
firm. His appointment will build on the firm’s increasingly
integrated European employment capability and our ability to advise
international clients on employment law matters that span
Europe.”
