Field Fisher Waterhouse boosts dispute resolution practice with new partner hire

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today the appointment of
litigation partner Jonathan Ray-Smith.
His appointment will further strengthen the firm's growing
dispute
resolution practice which over the last few years has grown to
ten partners and 20 associates, making a number of lateral hires
including bringing in insolvency disputes partner Michael Mulligan
from Halliwells.
Jonathan, who joins the firm from McFaddens LLP, has over 16
years experience as a litigator acting for both corporate and
private clients on a diverse range of civil litigation and dispute
resolution cases. He has advised on cases at all levels of the
English legal system, as well as representing clients at Employment
Tribunals and public inquiries. In addition to his domestic
clients, Jonathan has acted for international clients, with a
particular focus on the Middle East, Japan and the CIS.
Jonathan represented one of the parties in relation to
multi-jurisdictional litigation relating to the estate of the
deceased Georgian oligarch Arkadi ("Badri") Patarkatsishvili.
Jonathan's cases include multi-million pound claims for breach
of contract, breach of trust, misrepresentation, negligence, breach
of confidence and civil fraud. He also advises on
employment-related contractual disputes, particularly concerning
the termination of company executives’ contracts and has acted for
clients on Financial Services Authority investigations and
enforcement cases for insider dealing and market abuse. Jonathan
also has experience of sports-related regulatory disputes, having
represented the claimant in one of the leading authorities in this
area of law.
