FFW advises United St. Saviour’s Charity in purchase of sheltered housing property

24 August 2005

Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) advised United St. Saviour’s Charity, a provider of almshouses for poor people living in the London Borough of Southwark, on the purchase of 115-119 Brighton Road, Purley for a substantial consideration. The property will be converted into sheltered housing for over 55s who live in the London Borough of Southwark.

The contract requires McCarthy & Stone, a leading UK retirement-home builder, to develop the property by the construction of a four storey building, in which will be housed 55 people who satisfy the means test as determined by United St. Saviour’s Charity.

The FFW team was led by Real Estate partner Mark Sellers, and assisted by Lucy Woolley, partner Richard Webber (planning) and partner Nick Beecham (partner).

McCarthy & Stone were advised by Jonathan Howe of Lester Aldridge solicitors based in Bournemouth.
