FFW advises Department for Transport on Transport Direct portal project

Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) advised the Department for
Transport (DfT) on its Transport Direct project, a £17 million
project which has been named as one of the most impressive UK
e-Government services to date. Transport Direct is the first
complete journey planner for Great Britain and is available online.
It was launched on the 31 December 2004. FFW was appointed as the
DfT’s sole external legal advisor, following a rigorous tender
process.
Transport Direct (www.transportdirect.info) delivers
comprehensive travel information for both public and private forms
of transport. It enables users to make better informed decisions
when planning journeys within Great Britain. It represents a
benchmark in UK e-Government services.
