Senior Richards Butler partner Christopher Jackson joins FFW
16 May 2005
Christopher Jackson has joined FFW’s IP & Technology
Department as a partner. He comes from Richards Butler where
he had been a partner since 1995 until the end of January.
Christopher will concentrate on domestic and cross-border
commercial work in the media and communications sector alongside
FFW’s highly regarded partners, including Andrew Blankfield, Tony
Ballard, Ellen Fleming and Michael Chissick.
Christopher has substantial experience in this field. For
example, he has been advising MTV Networks Europe for 17
years. His diverse work for the broadcaster has included
European Commission proceedings and commercial deals. He has
also been Acting General Counsel for MTV Networks Europe for six
months (while the General Counsel was away on sabbatical).
(Christopher was President of the Annual Congress of the Union
Internationale des Avocats (UIA), one of the world’s longest
standing international lawyers’ organisations, when the Congress
was last held in London, and is Vice Chairman of the
Anglo-Australasian Lawyers’ Society (AALS)).
Mark Abell, Partner and Head of the IP & Technology
Department, says:
“I have known Christopher for many years and am delighted that he
has joined us. His enormous experience in the media sector
fits in perfectly with our strategy. One of our great strengths is
servicing international TMT corporations who need access to
specialist expertise in all technologies and media, and in the
protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights, as a
unified, seamless service.”
