FFW appointed on West Bromwich Commercial Limited panel

05 September 2005

Field Fisher Waterhouse has been appointed as the sole City law firm on the panel of West Bromwich Commercial Limited, the commercial lending arm of West Bromwich Building Society.

The West Brom is the UK’s ninth-largest building society and has £5.9 billion assets worth of under management.  Its subsidiary, West Bromwich Commercial Limited (WBCL), provides mortgages to fund the acquisition of prime commercial investment properties and increased lending by 73% in financial year 2004/05.

Field Fisher Waterhouse is already acting for WBCL on a number of transactions, including the first two acquisitions – a shopping centre in Cheltenham and office blocks in Norwich – by a limited partnership, both of which have now been successfully completed.

The FFW team, which successfully tendered for the panel appointment, was led by structured finance partner, Gary Walker.  FFW property finance partner William Greig leads the team acting for WBCL and is assisted by Steven Cole.
