Sixth lateral hire for FFW in 2006

10 July 2006

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (FFW) announces today the appointment of Chris Fellowes, who joins the firm as a construction partner.

This latest lateral partnership appointment is FFW’s sixth in 2006 and follows the arrival last month of Ian Craig, who joined the firm’s intellectual property practice from US firm Dorsey & Whitney, where he was head of IP in London.

Chris Fellowes, who joins from Manches, has over 23 years' experience in the construction industry.  Chris was previously head of the construction team at Tite & Lewis having previously been at Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.  He is also a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

Chris has wide experience in contentious and non-contentious construction/engineering related matters. On the non-contentious side, Chris regularly drafts and advises on project documentation for developers, employers, funders and contractors on a mixture of construction and engineering projects. Chris also advises financial institutions, tenants and investors on construction related documents, drafts and advises on PFI/PPP agreements and also on facilities management and maintenance contracts.

On the contentious side, Chris has acted on a number of adjudications (two of which have been the subject of High Court proceedings), arbitrations, High Court actions and mediations for employers, contractors and sub-contractors.

Moira Gilmour, FFW’s managing partner and head of real estate, said. “We are delighted that Chris Fellowes has decided to join FFW. His arrival provides us with an opportunity to build a strong construction practice increasingly integrated with our real estate group, which is one of the largest in the City.”
