FFW advises on £100 million Kings Cross St Pancras development
15 September 2006
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (FFW) has advised leading property
developer, Manhattan Loft Corporation (MLC), on a £100 million
mixed-use development at Kings Cross St Pancras, London.
The Grade I listed, former Midland Hotel at St Pancras station
will be refurbished by MLC to comprise 67 luxury apartments and a
244 bed five-star hotel to be operated by Renaissance
Marriott. When completed the development will form the
centrepiece of the new Eurostar Terminal at St Pancras.
The FFW Real
Estate Group has been working on the deal for more than two
years, advising MLC on all of the property, development and
construction aspects of the deal. The team was headed by FFW
real estate
partner, Paul
Houston and construction
partner, Lawrence Bruce (now of Watson Burton). They were
assisted by real
estate partner, Edward Bannister and
solicitor, Guy Wheeler.
The development follows on from FFW’s involvement in the
redevelopment of another piece of London’s architectural heritage –
the London County Hall Marriott Hotel.
Paul Houston
said: “FFW are delighted to have been involved in this very complex
and challenging project which, when completed will revitalise and
regenerate one of London’s landmark buildings.”
Herbert Smith advised the landlord, London & Continental
Railways.
