Field Fisher Waterhouse advises on sale of specialist community care provider

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised on the sale of Lifeways Community Care Limited, one of the UK's leading providers of specialist community care, on the company’s sale to independent private equity firm, August Equity.

The shareholders, including Nomura International, sold Lifeways in an auction sale for an undisclosed sum.  Lifeways is a market-leading provider of supported living for people with complex needs and is the only provider offering nationwide coverage.   The company offers specialist care to over 900 people with challenging needs, including autism, psychiatric or learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries, in their own home or a community setting.

August Equity will support the current management team in continuing to develop the business, both organically and through acquisition.

Nigel Taylor, corporate partner at Field Fisher Waterhouse, led the cross-departmental team on the deal, assisted by corporate solicitor Charu Babel and tax solicitor Mark Gearing.

Field Fisher Waterhouse worked alongside BDO Corporate Finance on the deal. August Equity were advised by Macfarlanes.
