Field Fisher Waterhouse announces Paris launch
01 November 2007
Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP continues its development into a
fully integrated European firm by today announcing the launch of a
Field Fisher Waterhouse office in Paris. This follows successful launches in
Brussels and Hamburg in the Spring as well as exclusive
relationships agreed in both Spain (Jiménez de Parga) and Italy (La
Scala).
The Field Fisher Waterhouse office has opened in Paris with seven partners and 13 other
fee-earners from the firm’s historic European Legal Alliance
partner, Dubarry. It is a full service office with a strong
capability in corporate, IP, technology,
commercial, competition, employment
and finance. As with Field Fisher
Waterhouse’s other European offices, the plan is for substantial
growth, particularly in the areas of Corporate and IP.
The new office will be managed by partner Mario Celaya and a local management
committee. Mario Celaya will
join the firm’s European Board, chaired by Mark Abell, Field Fisher Waterhouse’s
International Development Partner, with representatives from the
London, Hamburg
and Brussels offices.
Mario Celaya said: “We are
pleased to be joining Field Fisher Waterhouse. We have successfully
worked alongside the firm for many years and its international
outlook fits well with our business. By opening a Paris office as part of the firm’s wider European
operation we will be able to work closely with the Brussels, Hamburg and
London offices to offer an integrated
European service to our clients.”
Moira Gilmour, Field Fisher
Waterhouse’s Managing Partner, said: “Establishing a presence in
Paris is the next phase in our strategy
to deliver a fully integrated European service to our
clients. We are being joined by an excellent team of French
lawyers who understand our firm’s culture, have a good client base
and a strong capability in areas key to our strategy. We have known
and worked with them for many years in the European Legal Alliance
and they embrace our goal to create a true European law firm. We
plan to continue to add talented lawyers to all of our European
offices and have already made good progress with eight more
partners joining us in Germany and
Belgium since the April launches.”
