Field Fisher Waterhouse boosts Technology Law Group with partner hire

08 June 2009

Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP announces today the appointment of partner Nick Holland who joins the firm from Eversheds. Nick joins the firm’s Technology Law Group which is now one of the largest single site technology practices in Europe.

Nick specialises in international technology and telecoms projects for large multinationals based across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has a particular focus on outsourcing transactions, global data protection and privacy projects and telecoms network deals including telecoms licensing deals and broadband rollouts.  His client base consists mainly of international technology and telecoms equipment manufacturers.

Like a number of Field Fisher Waterhouse’s technology lawyers Nick has spent time as in-house counsel as well as working in private practice, spending three years at  telecommunications company Lucent Technologies. He is ranked by both Chambers and Legal 500 as a leading individual in technology law.

This latest lateral hire will further strengthen the firm’s well-recognised technology law practice, which over the past year has seen the appointments of partners Hamish Sandison from Bird & Bird and Katrina Dick from Lovells as well as technology litigation partner Andrew Dodd from DLA Piper. The Technology Law Group has recently closed some of the most high profile deals in the sector including the procurement of a new Police National Database and two ten year contracts for the Identity and Passport Service, worth over half a billion pounds.

Michael Chissick, Head of the Technology Law Group at Field Fisher Waterhouse, said: “The firm’s technology practice has had a successful year with the expansion of the team and the closing of some big ticket projects. I am delighted to welcome Nick to the firm. His experience advising multinational companies will build on the practice’s international dimension and his technology and telecoms sector expertise will be a significant asset.”
