David Bond is a partner in the Intellectual
Property Group and specialises in advising clients with brand
promotion and the commercial exploitation of their intellectual
property rights.
David’s particular areas of expertise include the following:
- structuring and drafting national and international franchise,
distribution and agency agreements; drafting and negotiating
R&D and collaboration agreements; advising both academic bodies
and industry organisations
- drafting and negotiating patent and know how licences, with
particular emphasis on manufacturing and production agreements
- structuring and negotiating brand extension and merchandising
arrangements
- as head of the Promotions,
Marketing and Sponsorship Group, advising on all forms of brand
promotion including copy clearance, promotional activity,
skill-based competitions and claim substantiation
David is a member of the British Franchise Association, the
Promotion Marketing Association, Inc and the European Sponsorship
Association.
David regularly speaks at national and international conferences
and has co-authored Butterworth’s "Encyclopaedia of Forms and
Precedents for Franchising, Agency and Distribution”.
