Kirstene Baillie is a financial
services specialist. The focus of her practice is
advising financial services institutions on a wide range of retail
and institutional investment funds, insurance and pension products
– and related financial services regulatory issues.
With over 20 years experience in this sector, her leading
expertise is acknowledged by the legal directories. She leads
a top three funds practice, as recorded in the UK Funds
Industry Review and Directory. Kirstene is best known for her

the structure and governance of UK authorised funds prior to the
FSA preparing its New Collective Investment Schemes Sourcebook.
Her practice has, however, evolved with the globalisation of the
fund management business, to cover a wide range of international
funds and products, including alternative investment funds and
property funds. She also advises a wide range of clients on
UK financial services regulation, including FSMA perimeter issues,
insurance and pension products, conduct of business issues and the
impact of the implementation of EU Directives.
Kirstene is vice chair of the Investment Funds Committee of the
International Bar Association, and participates in the Financial
Services Section of the Association's LPD Council.
