Louis-Bernard Buchman is
a partner in our Paris office. He specialises in intellectual
property as well as arbitration and litigation. He has expertise in
optimising intellectual property assets management (portfolios of
trade marks, patents, models and industrial designs, copyrights,
breeder’s rights, domain names) including carrying out acquisition
audits, drafting and negotiating IP rights licenses and know-how
agreements. He also handles litigation, arbitration and mediation
relating to IP rights and has wide experience of international
arbitrations, whether institutional or ad hoc, in which he acts
either as counsel to parties or as arbitrator.
Louis-Bernard is the author
of a number of legal publications in French and English,
touching on court procedures in France, on copyright, on
arbitration and mediation, and on corporate issues.
He is a member of several
professional associations and, since 2006, the chair of the Finance
Committee of the CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of the
European Union). He is also a board member of two large charities,
SNSM, the French Lifeboat Institution, and OSE, a charity for
underprivileged children.
He speaks French, English,
Italian and Polish.
