Paul Barton specialises in all areas of intellectual
property, information
technology, data
protection and e-commerce and internet law, including advising
on the procurement, licensing, development and outsourcing of computer
systems and software.
Paul's clients include technology start-ups, leading service
providers and suppliers of technology, multinational companies and
government bodies. As well as advising on outsourcing, the
licensing and exploitation of digital data and databases, Paul
regularly advises on e-commerce and internet law issues.
Paul regularly speaks on intellectual property, information
technology and internet law issues. He also lectures for the
Bristol University Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and
Practice.
Paul is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and is active
in the International Technology Law Association and the American
Bar Association's IP and Technology sections.
