Andrew Dodd is a partner in our London office. His principal
practice area is the prosecution and defence of substantial
disputes arising out of software, outsourcing, IT and
telecommunications contracts.
He acts for major IT suppliers and leading UK telecommunications
operators as well as public sector clients.
He advised EDS, at his previous firm, in relation to various
implementation, service and sub contractor issues arising from the
government outsourcing of computer and telephonic services for
HMPS. He acted for EDS as one of the partners in the team defending
a £740 million action brought by BskyB in relation to the upgrade
of UK call centres, which was one of the largest disputes before
the courts in 2008.
Andrew has acted in various major telecommunications disputes,
involving the obtaining or releasing of injunctive relief,
representations at mediations and the prosecution of proceedings
brought in various forums. These include acting for a major
telecommunications provider in relation to injunctive proceedings
brought by an internet service provider (in the High Court and
Court of Appeal) followed by a multi-million pound tracing exercise
and contractual claim.
He has also advised a corporate consortium on various issues
arising from the implementation of a transport ticketing system,
including complex issues arising from software implementation, IPR
exchange and shareholder obligations under both lead and sub
contracts.
Andrew has contributed to various professional publications as
well as commented in the Times and FT.com on litigation topics.
