Pierre Frühling concentrates on European law with an emphasis on
the transport, energy and financial sectors. His litigation work,
which includes administrative, regulatory and competition issues,
combines both EU and national laws.
He has a strong commitment in transport law and has been
involved in many prominent cases since the early nineties, ranging
from mergers and regulatory matters to asset based finance,
contracts, accidents or insurance related issues. He is recognised
as one of the leading aviation lawyers by the directories Euromoney
/ International Financial Law Review Guide to the World’s Leading
Aviation Lawyers and the International Who’s Who of Aviation
Lawyer. Besides airlines, Pierre is also counsel to railways and
logistic providers.
His competition
practice extends to the telecom and energy sectors.
Pierre has also developed an important practice in banking &
financial law, which covers both operations and regulatory issues,
including EU cross-border operations.
He has authored many articles, co-authored a Treatise on air law
(‘Précis de droit aérien’, Bruyland, 2006), is the Belgian
correspondent to the International Law Office (partner to the IBA)
and is frequently invited as a speaker to lectures worldwide. He
chairs the European Union’s Transport, Energy and Telecommunication
Laws sub-Committee of the Brussels bar (French) and seats at the
board of the Brussels Air Law Forum.
