Babette
Märzheuser-Wood is recognised as one of Europe’s leading experts
for international franchising,
particularly in the hotel & leisure
sector.
Babette advises on international franchise, management and
development agreements including IP driven joint ventures. She has
transactional experience in all 27 EU countries and has worked in
Germany, Hong Kong and London advising clients on international
transactions. She was named in Chambers Global as a leading
individual in international franchising. Babette heads up the
firm’s Hotel Sector Group and also the firm’s German Group. Babette originally qualified as a
solicitor in Germany and is qualified to practice in Germany and
the UK and advises on English and German law.
Babette is a member of the IBA Franchise Committee and a member
of the ABA Franchise Forum/International Committee. She is the
author/editor of a number of books on franchising and teaches
English law at the University of Vaduz.
Babette specialises in the hotel & leisure and retail sectors. She advises on hotel management
agreements and is a regular speaker at the International Hotel
Forum and other industry events.
Babette teaches English law at University of Liechtenstein in
Vaduz. She is also a regular speaker at IBA, IFA and ABA and hotel
