John has been listed as a highly recommended lawyer in The
International Who’s Who of Trademark Lawyers 2007.
The publication has been taken from The International Who’s
Who of Business Lawyers. The research was based on the
opinions of hundreds of law firm clients and trade mark lawyers
from around the world.

John Olsen is Head of the Trade Mark and Brand Protection Group.
He manages brand protection programmes for a large number of global
brands, including Apple Computer, Logica, Time Warner and Laura
Ashley. His work includes filing and prosecuting trade mark
applications throughout the world. His knowledge of international
trade mark protection is vast and he has ‘hands-on’ experience in
registering and protecting marks in
countries throughout the world.
John is the co-editor of "Trade Marks, Trade Names and Unfair
Competition: World Law and Practice" published by Sweet &
Maxwell and "Domain Names: Global Practice and Procedure". He is on
the editorial board of the European Intellectual Property
Review.
John is a registered foreign lawyer with the Law Society of
England and Wales and is admitted to the California Bar. He also
practised in Paris for several years. He is a member of the
International Trademark Association, APRAM, AIPPI (British and
French Groups) AIPLA, ABA and the IBA.
