Allan Poulter is dual-qualified as a solicitor and a Registered
Trade Mark Attorney. Prior to joining FFW as a partner in 2003,
Allan was a Director of one of the worlds leading Branding
consultancies. He has also practised as a barrister in Hong
Kong and as a Partner in one of the UK's leading firms of Patent
and Trade Mark Attorneys.
Allan has wide experience in all aspects of IP, both
contentious and non-contentious, with a particular emphasis on
trade marks. His practice now focuses almost exclusively on brand
clearance, protection, exploitation and enforcement, both in the UK
and globally. Allan is the Chairman of the International Trademark
Association (INTA) Publications Committee.
Allan has been published extensively in a wide range of
publications and journals. He is the principal Editor of the
INTA publication on the Community Trade Mark and is co-author of
“The User's Guide to Trade Marks and Passing-Off”, the third
edition of which is due to be published by Tottel in 2007.
He is a regular speaker at International conferences on brand
protection issues.
