Antony Phillips heads our Property
Litigation Group. He also sits on the Board of the
Real Estate Practice. He is
described as a "damned good lawyer", with his clients being
impressed by his "commerciality and business-like approach" -
Chambers UK, 2006.
Antony deals exclusively with contentious commercial property
issues. This includes dilapidations claims, rent reviews and
other landlord and tenant disputes, real property disputes
(including covenants, easements and boundaries), contentious
planning issues, property related insolvency issues and secured
lending disputes.
Antony is a Solicitor Advocate (Higher Courts Civil) with wide
experience as an advocate in the High Court and County
Courts. He is also an Associate of the Institute of
Arbitrators and a trained CEDR representative in Mediations.
Antony is a past Chairman of the Property Litigation
Association, the association of contentious property solicitors
with a membership of over 650. He is the immediate
past Chairman of the RICS Dilapidations Forum. He has
also sat on the RICS Boundaries and Party Walls Working Group.
Antony lectures and writes widely on contentious property
issues. He has written articles in a wide range of
publications, including Estates Gazette, Property
Week and The Times (property and legal
sections). He has also written chapters on ‘trespass’,
‘boundaries’ and ‘nuisance’ in e-books published by RICS
Books. He is currently writing a book on ‘Nuisance’ to be
published by RICS Books in their ‘Case in Point’ series.
