Olivier Rijckaert leads our employment
practice in Brussels. Before joining Field Fisher Waterhouse in
2007, he worked with Bird & Bird and Allen & Overy, and was
a general counsel at Ericsson Belgium. He was admitted to the Bar
in 1995.
Olivier advises Belgian and international companies, government
agencies and individuals on all aspects of individual and
collective employment law, contentious and non-contentious. He
specializes in the regulatory aspects of the modern workplace,
including flexibility of working arrangements, discrimination,
privacy, employee fraud and intellectual property. His practice
also covers the employment aspects of restructurings, corporate
transactions and outsourcing programmes.
Olivier regularly speaks at conferences and is the author of
numerous books and legal papers concerning employee benefits,
working time arrangements, employee privacy in the information age
and the functioning of the Works Council. He is a member of the
editorial committee of "Chroniques de Droit social", Belgium's
leading employment law magazine. In 2006, he was appointed as a
Mediator in employment matters.
Olivier is fluent in French, English and Dutch.
