Olivier Rijckaert leads our Employment
& Benefits Group in Brussels.
Before joining Field Fisher Waterhouse in 2007, he worked with Bird
& Bird and Allen & Overy, and was a general counsel at
Ericsson Belgium. He was admitted to the Bar in 1995.
Olivier advises Belgian and international companies, high
profile individuals and government agencies on all aspects of
individual and collective employment law, contentious and
non-contentious. His practice mainly consists of day-to-day advice,
dismissal scenarios and company restructurings, including
outsourcing and collective redundancies. Olivier also has a broad
experience in "modern workplace issues" including employee
benefits, flexibility of working arrangements, discrimination,
privacy and IP.
Olivier regularly speaks at conferences and is the author of
several legal books and papers. He is frequently interviewed by the
financial and general press on recent developments in
employment law. He is a member of the editorial committee of
"Chroniques de Droit social", Belgium's leading employment law
magazine. In 2008, he was appointed as a surrogate Judge at the
employment tribunal of Namur.
Olivier is fluent in French, English and Dutch.
