Charles Whiddington specialises in the competition
law aspects of mergers, joint ventures, commercial agreements,
computer and intellectual property, telecommunications, licensing,
regulatory matters and state aids. He has particular experience of
competition matters in the telecoms, IT, energy, travel, transport and
brewing sectors.
Charles' competition law clients include travel operators, a
private jet operator, a mobile phone network operator, leisure
companies, technology companies and telecoms operators.
Charles also advises on public procurement law. His clients include
central government departments, local authorities, as well as
private sector bidders for public sector projects.
Charles is a frequent speaker and chair at conferences and has
written extensively on competition law matters.
He is a member of ABA, SEG, IBA, NYSBA and CLA.
Charles is co-author of “Antitrust Laws and Trade Regulation” (2nd
Edition, 1999), “Volume 9 UK Competition Law” (Matthew Bender);
“Antitrust and New Media” (2000); “Electronic Commerce Law” by
