Petra is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department and has a
broad commercial dispute resolution practice with a particular
focus on disputes with a multi-jurisdictional dimension. She
specialises in international commercial arbitration, has acted in both
institutional and ad hoc arbitrations and has significant
experience of complex and technical disputes.
Petra is a native German speaker and regularly advises German
clients involved in contentious proceedings in England as well as
in connection with cross-border enforcement and jurisdiction
issues.
Recent cases include:
- Acting for German bank in LCIA arbitration in respect of
commercial dispute with its insurer relating to trade finance
arrangements with a UAE based trading company
- Acting for major UK hotel chain in CIMAR arbitration against
building contractor concerning defects at flagship premises and in
related proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court
- Representing German trade finance provider in high-value
cross-border fraud claim against defendant in England
- Advising shareholders in Middle Eastern telecoms company in
connection with set of complex multi-jurisdictional investment
disputes and representing clients in related ICC arbitration
- Acting for European pharmaceutical company in claim against
Norwegian distributor arising from breach of distribution
agreement
- Advising large German steel trader on contractual damages claim
against English counterparty
- Representing German petrochemicals supplier in breach of
contract claim against Polish trading partner before English High
Court
