Buckingham is a partner in the Technology and
Outsourcing Group, specialising in technology, media and
telecommunications transactions and advisory work for clients in
the financial, technology and communications and public
sectors.
James advises on, prepares and negotiates contracts for:
information technology and business process outsourcing projects;
IT service provision in single supplier and multi-supplier delivery
environments; major systems implementation and procurement;
software development, licensing and support; and e-commerce
projects. James has particular expertise in public sector
procurement and the application of the public contract regulations.
James advises clients on all aspects of the sourcing process and
the project lifecycle including, market sounding, tendering,
re-structuring, termination, exit and re-procurement.
James is a dual-qualified lawyer and practised in Australia for
6 years prior to relocating to the UK. James is ranked by
Chambers UK as an up and coming lawyer who is "down-to-earth,
technically good and inspires confidence in clients".
James speaks regularly on public sector procurement and outsourcing
and contributed chapters to The Law Society’s recently published
book on outsourcing titled, “Outsourcing: Law and
Practice” (December, 2010).
