Louis-Bernard Buchman is a member of the Dispute Resolution Group, based in our Paris office. In addition to his wide French
courts experience, he has also been involved in many international
arbitrations, whether institutional or
ad hoc and in several international mediations, in which he acted
either as counsel, mediator or arbitrator. A Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Louis is on the panels of WIPO,
ICDR and the Polish Arbitration Court, and is regularly appointed
by WIPO as neutral to adjudicate Domain Name disputes.
He also counts amongst his clients a number of
high net worth individuals for whom he acts as a general counsel on
all business and family affairs in France and internationally.
Louis-Bernard is the author of a number of
legal publications in French and English, touching on court
procedures in France, on copyright, on arbitration and mediation,
and on corporate governance issues.
He is a member of several professional
associations and, since 2006, the chair of the Finance Committee of
the CCBE (Council of the Bars and Law Societies of the European
Union). He is also a Captain in the French Navy, and a board
member of two large charities, SNSM, the French Lifeboat
Institution, and OSE, a charity for underprivileged children.
Louis-Bernard speaks French, English, Italian
and Polish.
