Judith is a partner in our Public and Regulatory Law Group. She
specialises in public and regulatory law and acts for public,
regulatory and commercial clients.
Judith works with public bodies with regulatory responsibilities
and private clients operating in the regulated sector. Judith
advises on a wide-range of regulatory provisions, policy matters
and practice-based issues and handles fitness to practise cases,
High Court applications and judicial review claims and acts as
Legal Assessor to a number of committees and panels.
Judith has been described by Legal 500 and Chambers UK as
“outstanding”, “sure-footed and accessible when dealing with
clients," and as understanding, “the regulatory environment
inside-out.”
Judith has spoken at a number of conferences and runs training
courses for clients on topics such as acting in a judicial
capacity, human rights and natural justice, evidence in
disciplinary matters and fitness to practise tests, case law and
schemes.
Prior to joining the department, Judith was Director for Conduct
at the General Optical Council where she managed disciplinary
proceedings against opticians and advised on the strategic
direction of the organisation’s conduct function.
