Rachel Cooper works in our Public and
Regulatory Law Group, and is based at our Manchester office.
Rachel has mainly acted on behalf of healthcare regulators and
has prepared Fitness to Practise cases for presentation. These
cases include complaints against medical practitioners of
inappropriate examinations, fraudulent conduct and inappropriate
use and/or prescribing of controlled drugs.
Previously, Rachel assisted the education team in a number of
contentious matters for higher/further education institutions. In
particular, Rachel acted on behalf of institutions in relation to
student disciplinary hearings. Such work included; investigating
complaints against students, conducting interviews, preparing
witness statements, drafting allegations and assisting in the
presentation of cases at disciplinary hearings.
