Brian Davidson is a Privacy and Information Advisor in our
Privacy
& Information Law Group. He provides legal, compliance and
policy advice to public and private sector clients on UK, European
and international data protection law matters. They include
marketing issues, the processing of employee data, international
data transfers and contractual issues, reviewing privacy policies
and related notices and the application of exemptions under the
Freedom of Information Act. Brian also has expertise in
liaising with national data protection authorities to secure
appropriate notifications and authorisations for clients. He has
also been seconded to the Global Data Privacy Team of a leading
technology company, where he handled all daily internal and
client-facing data protection matters.
Brian specialises in the energy and
natural resources, financial institutions, media & entertainment, retail and technology
& communications sectors.
Brian has contributed to various industry publications including
Data Protection Law & Policy, World Data
Protection Report and Data Protection Laws of the
World. He is also a speaker at Field Fisher Waterhouse's
annual Privacy and Information Law Summit and a regular
contributor to our Privacy & Information Law
blog.
