Sarah sits as a legal adviser at hearings including at the National
College of Teaching and Learning (formerly the General
Teaching Council) the Human
Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, the Royal Institution of Chartered
Surveyors and the UK Council for
Psychotherapy. Sarah has worked for a number of smaller and
start up regulators and licensing bodies, as a result she has been
involved in drafting and interpretation of regulations. She has
conducted review projects on complaints handling and licensing
procedures for public bodies. She regularly works on judicial reviews
and appeals
arising from regulatory and
commercial decision making and has specialist
experience in statutory prosecutions in the Magistrates Court in
areas including childcare and the illegal practice of
dentistry.
Sarah regularly provides bespoke training for
Panellists and those who act as adjudicators and also for
investigative and disciplinary staff at a range of regulators.
Sarah is described by Chambers Guide to the
Legal Profession as "outstanding, very able, conscientious
and innovative" she also impressed sources with her “thorough
understanding of the area” and “sensible, user-friendly
attitude.”
Sarah is a Committee member of the Association
of Regulatory & Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL) and the Manchester
Law Society and regularly Chairs and speaks at national and
international conferences on regulation in health, bioscience and social
care."
