Daniel is a partner in the Derivatives & Structured Finance Group, with over 11
years' experience advising on a variety of privately negotiated and
structured derivative products including credit, equity, funds and
rates derivatives. Daniel has particular interest advising on
repos, securities lending, collateral and related matters. He
also advises in connection with the hedging of securitisations and
other structured finance transactions and on the enforceability of
derivatives, close-out netting and collateral against various
counterparty types including charities, private individuals,
partnerships, housing associations and statutory and charter
corporations. Daniel also advises on the derivatives aspects
of bank and corporate reorganisations, having been involved in the
first transfer under the Banking Act in England.
Daniel specialises in the financial institutions sector and his
clients include leading US, European and UK investment and retail
banks, as well as a number of UK and European corporates and fund
managers.
Daniel is a contributing author to An
Introduction to Repo Markets (3rd edition) by
Moorad Choudhry and author of articles on repos, securities lending
and liquidity swaps in the Butterworths Journal of Banking and
Financial Law. Daniel has also been involved in the drafting
of industry standard documentation relating to collateral and is an
active member of ISDA's legal and documentation committees.
Daniel is a regular speaker on repos, collateral, derivatives and
related matters.
Daniel has an advanced level of spoken and
written Spanish.
