Rhys Griffiths specialises in high-value contract, commercial and corporate disputes, he also
frequently advises clients in relation to defamation, both pre-and
post-publication, and is the standing counsel for a financial plc
on all its defamation work.
Rhys is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution,
particularly litigation in the High Court and Court of
Appeal. He also advises on all forms of ADR,
including mediation. Rhys regularly provides
litigation-prevention advice to clients at the contract drafting
stage, working closely with transactional colleagues in this
respect.
Rhys advises clients in both the private and public sector. His main client base includes
financial institutions and companies in
the hotel & leisure sector. Rhys has
also acted for a number of public sector bodies,
including a public sector transport body on a dispute with a PFI
concessionaire as well as the body responsible for advising the
fire services of England and Wales.
Rhys is a regular speaker on matters relating to dispute
resolution, both at in-house and external conferences. In
particular, Rhys has spoken at the annual conference of the
Institute of Travel and Tourism in Cyprus and the annual Henry
Stewart Hotel Conference in London. Rhys is also a regular
contributor to industry and legal journals and has given podcasts
and television interviews on a variety of litigation-related
topics.
