Mark Holah is head of the Trade Marks and
Brand Protection Group. He is dual-qualified as a solicitor and
a Registered Trade Mark Attorney.
He has wide experience in all aspects of intellectual property, both contentious and
non-contentious, with a particular emphasis on trade marks and designs. His practice now focuses exclusively on
brand clearance, protection, exploitation and enforcement, both in
the UK and globally, and he helps to protect some of the world's
best known brands.

trademark lawyers in the International Who's Who of Trademark
Lawyers 2010. The publication has been taken from
The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. The
research was based on the opinions of hundreds of law firm clients

He is also a member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys
(ITMA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA) and
received the first Adrian Spencer Award presented by ITMA.
Mark has been listed as a leading individual in the "Guide to
the World's Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners". Only those
nominated by in-house counsel and their peers appear in the
guide. In the 2008 legal directories Mark was described as
"the best at what he does" (The Legal 500) and “up to date with all
new developments, provides thorough and succinct advice and can be
completely trusted to deliver a solid conclusion” (Chambers).

Mark works for a very wide range of clients in virtually every
industry sector, especially in technology
& communications, hotels &
leisure, media, public sector, retail,
sport and transport.
Mark has been published extensively in a wide range of
intellectual property journals and speaks regularly on trade mark
and branding issues.
He has spoken at two International Trademark Association (INTA)
Annual Meetings and at two Intellectual Property Institute of
Canada (IPIC) conferences. Mark also gives revision courses for
trade mark attorney examinations organised by both the Institute of
Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) and JDD.
Mark regularly
lectures at the University of Cambridge as part of its Masters
of Bioscience Enterprise on IP law.
